GEORGE J. BROWN, O.D.

Dr. Brown is a recognized leader in the field of eye care. He has an enthusiastic, warm and friendly manner with people of all ages. In addition to complicated contact lens care, he has an extensive background in pediatrics and vision therapy. Dr. Brown has been a clinical investigator for treatments of dry eye, and computer vision syndrome. His undergraduate Degree is in Physics from Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Brown is a 1986 graduate, with honors, from The New England College of Optometry. Following graduation, he served a one-year Fellowship, specializing in eye disease at the Omnivision Center. He is a former recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens Award. Dr. Brown has been an active member of our community and in the local optometric association where he served as President in the 1999/2000 year.

DAVID J. SANTOS, O.D.

Dr. Santos is a 1991 graduate of the State University College of Optometry in New York. SUNY is recognized as the leading university in the world in the treatment of eye coordination and eye alignment dysfunctions. In addition to having been a cancer researcher at Roger Williams Medical Center, Dr. Santos has been very active in testing new contact lens designs. Dr. Santos has provided new solutions for dry eye, macular disease, and UV protection.  His knowledge of eye disease and learning-related anomalies is unparalleled.  Dr. Santos is well known for his kind and patient demeanor. He has traveled extensively in Europe and Central America, and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

ROBERT W. HILL, O.D.

Dr. Hill is a 2002 graduate of New England College of Optometry and has been part of our team since June 2002. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from Providence College in 1998, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at New England College of Optometry, Dr. Hill was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, the international optometric honor society and VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity). He received advanced eye disease training at the VA Hospitals in Providence, RI and Bedford, MA, and studied contact lenses and corneal reshaping under Dr. Marjorie Rah, an internationally recognized leader in contact lenses. Dr. Hill excels in specialty contact lens fitting, including multi-focal contact lenses, eye disease, and pediatric vision. He is also a pioneer in CRT or Corneal Refractive Therapy.  Dr. Hill is co-Director of our Contact Lens Practice at the Brown Center.

ERIC M. PRYTULA, O.D.

Dr. Prytula received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. After gaining experience in the area of pharmacology research in the private sector, Dr. Prytula turned his passion to eye care, earning his optometry degree from Chicago’s prestigious Illinois College of Optometry. He continued his pursuit of excellence receiving Clinical Honors in Primary Care and advanced medical eye care. Dr. Prytula has done extensive work in diabetic eye care, glaucoma management, and primary and emergency care and eye safety among athletes. Dr. Prytula has also developed a subspecialty and interest in dry eye.

 

Glaucoma, Diabetes, and Dry Eye Director

TATIANA GIRALDO, O.D.

After earning her Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island, where she majored in Biological Sciences, Dr. Tatiana Giraldo graduated cum laude from the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She was a member of both the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the Tomb & Key Fraternity. Dr. Giraldo has extensive training in the management of eye disease and eye injuries. She has research experience in Diabetes and patient education. She has attended mission trips in South America, provided numerous vision screenings and charity events, and is active with Special Olympics and VOSH. Dr. Giraldo is certified in Corneal Reshaping Therapy. She is also fluent in Spanish.

 

Director of Primary Care Services

Brianna V. Ramirez, O.D.

Dr. Ramirez is a 2023 Honors graduate of MCPHS College of Optometry, where she also earned her undergraduate degree in Human Biology, graduating Cum Laude from Worcester State. She completed her medical residency at Rochester General Hospital and the prestigious Reed Eyecare in Rochester, NY. Bringing a unique perspective to eye care, Dr. Ramirez combines her expertise in hospital-based care and clinical research to serve the Rhode Island community. Fluent in English and Spanish, she coordinates our diabetes clinic, dilation clinic and is the Assistant Co - Director of our Myopia Control Program. Her specialties include Comprehensive Eye Exams, Ocular Aesthetics, Emergency Eye Care, High-Astigmatism, Medical Contact Lens Wear, and the management of conditions like Digital Eyestrain, Ocular Surface Disease, Glaucoma, Cataracts, and Diabetes.


Director of Pediatric Optometrist

Aeneas Wright, Resident Doctor

Dr. Aeneas Wright’s career path has brought him to Providence, Rhode Island where he will be conducting our Vision Therapy and children’s vision programs. A native of Mississippi, Dr. Wright holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Jackson State University and a dual-degree Doctor of Optometry and a master’s degree in Public Health from the prestigious Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Science in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Wright’s experience as an athlete and passion for health has contributed to his passion for helping children reach their highest potential through exercise, proper health habits and hard work. He strives to serve as a role model to children of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to joining our Primary Care Practice in East Providence, Dr. Wright will be co-director of our Binocular Vision, Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy sectors.

Optometric Residents Interns and Clinical Externs

Long recognized as a leader in clinical training and development of the next generation of Optometry Doctors. Our Center is proud to be one of the leading private practice centers in New England. Degreed, Post Doc, Optometry Students and Residents serve three, six and twelve month immersions in modern clinical practice. Depending on their experience, training, and where they are in their clinical journey, most are working under the license of our senior Doctor. The have yet to be granted credentials with insurance companies. each patient encounter is reviewed and signed-off by one of our senior Doctors. In addition, our practice makes use of both certified and non-certified optometric assistants and technicians. Each clinical staff member will interduce themselves identifying their level training and position in the practice.
