Missed Appointment Policy

“NO SHOW” and late cancellations

For every patient that misses an appointment without providing proper notice, another patient is prevented from receiving care. We will charge a missed appointment fee for all missed appointments (“no shows”) and appointments that are canceled without sufficient notice. We always appreciate as much notice as possible, but appointments that are rescheduled or cancelled after 4pm the day before your appointment will be charged a mandatory fee.

In an effort to protect our doctors’ schedules and maintain reasonable fees and adequate staffing for all patients, we have introduced a missed appointment fee in our practice. Modern times put undue pressure on all medical providers to streamline care and to be efficient with staff and doctors’ time.

Missed Comprehensive Eye Appointment:

$20.00 per instance

Missed Medical or Follow Up Appointment (with or without dilation)

Examples: Tear Savers, Eye Pressure Check, Visual Fields, etc.

$30.00 per instance

Cancelled/Rescheduled After 4pm the Day Before Your Appointment:

$20.00 per instance

“No Show” fees will be billed to the patient. This fee is not covered by insurance and the bill should be paid upon receipt. We understand there may be times when an unforeseen emergency occurs, and you may not be able to keep your scheduled appointment. These fees are designed as a courtesy to our staff and all of our patients. We view this agreement as a partnership between the practice and each patient.

All fees will be billed to your account. Your insurance will not adjust any missed appointment fee. Please do not ask for missed appointment fees for any insured exams to be waived or adjusted by the practice or your doctor. You can pay your missed appointment fee at Vision Care at the Brown Center.

 

What to do if you can’t make your appointment:

For all appointments, send us an email at info@thebrowncenter.com with three of your available dates and times that you would like to reschedule to for any appointment. You can also be on the standby log for the next available appointment. For comprehensive eye exams, you can schedule through our online portal, just let us know by email that you need to cancel your current appointment and you have already scheduled a new time.
