Who Needs Comprehensive Testing?

The comprehensive tests provide the highest level of care possible and are recommended for all patients over the age of 18. Documentation of the retinal blood vessels, nerve tissue, side vision, and corneal topography help to prevent not only eye disease but also neurological disease and systemic disease (High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, etc.) as well as monitor the side effects from medications used to treat these conditions. I Digital Retinal Photograph

Subtle changes in the retinal optic nerve and arteries and veins are best observed through retinal photographs. The retina offers clues to ones overall health. Your photos are a very important part of good eye health.

II Visual Fields

Checks the visual pathway and peripheral or side vision. Very important in diagnosing neurological disease, glaucoma, retina detachment and cerebral vascular disease and drivers license renewal.

III Corneal Topography

Documents the contour or shape of the cornea. Abnormalities can be due to contact lens wear, growths on the eyeball and collagen or rhumatoid thinning disease. Essential in selecting contact lens designs and laser procedure evaluation.
