Insurance Updates for 2012
Rhode Island Medical Assistance (RIMA)
We no longer accept Medical Assistance. We will have a limited number of free clinic days, to be announced.
EyeMed
We no longer accept EyeMed.
As a courtesy to our patients, those with EyeMed will be allowed to participate with Vision Care Advantage (VCA), our company vision plan, for the 2012 year.
Those with EyeMed can see us “out of network.” In out of network claims, you would pay us and file a claim with EyeMed to be reimbursed by them.
For a patient with a major medical provider (like UnitedHealth, Tufts, etc.) you can still see us with a medical diagnosis (for example, dry eye, glaucoma or diabetes) or an eye emergency.
Tufts
We no longer accept Tufts.
Vision Service Plan (VSP)
We will continue to accept VSP for 2012.
However, before you sign up for your plan again you might want to check with our office about our anticipated participation for 2013.
We accept most major health insurance plans and several vision plans including those listed below. We are a provider for examination only for Cole.
Some plans allow self-referral for a Comprehensive Annual Evaluation. Many plans do require authorization by your primary care physician for emergencies and special testing.
