George J. Brown, O.D.

Dr. Brown is a recognized leader in the field of eyecare. He has an enthusiastic, warm and friendly manner with people of all ages. In addition to complicated contact lens care, he has an extensive background in pediatrics and vision therapy.

Dr. Brown has been a clinical investigator for treatments of dry eye, and computer vision syndrome. He also has much experience in the treatment of eye emergencies and eye diseases.
Dr. Brown is a 1986 graduate, with honors, from The New England College of Optometry. Following graduation, he served a one-year Fellowship, specializing in eye disease at the Omnivision Center. He is a former recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens Award. His undergraduate Degree is in Physics from Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Brown has been an active member of our community and in the local optometric association where he served as President in the 1999/2000 year.
Robert W. Hill, O.D.

Dr. Hill, a 2002 graduate of the New England College of Optometry, joined our vision care team in the Summer of 2002. He excels in the treatment of eye disease. He was admitted to the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Hill studied in Boston with Marjorie Rah, O.D., a leader in specialty Contact Lens Care and Corneal Reshaping Therapy. He was a member of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity.) He received advanced training at the VA Hospitals in Providence and Bedford, MA. While at the Dimock Community Health Center, he was enrolled in therapeutic trials and research in the evaluation of new glaucoma medicines and technology.
Dr. Hill has authored a paper on anti-angiogenisis drugs and the eye. His passion, however, lies in the area of multifocal contact lenses. At the New England Eye Institute he was the recipient of the Honors Award for "Excellence and Creativity" in the area of Specialty Contact Lens Design! In 1998, he successfully completed the Biology Premedical program at Providence College, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Lelia Braga, Administrator / Accounts Payable
A longtime patient of the practice, Lelia joined our team in 1996. She has filled many duties from patient care coordinator to technician and optical assistant. Her behind the scenes work is a big part of our success. Lelia is a kind and considerate person who takes care of the financial parts of our business.
Sonya Calvano, Office Coordinator
Sonya enters her 6th year as office coordinator for The Brown Center. She is a kind, beautiful, and talented person who skillfully manages our front end. She is responsible for many duties involving our computer system and procedural training, billing, and scheduling. She also supervises the patient care coordinators. Like many of our other staff members, Sonya is also fluent in Portuguese.

Brenda brings an "artsy" diversion to the eyewear selection process. She uses over 12 years of eyewear expertise to design a wonderful prescription. She is a bright and cheerful individual who is very knowledgeable about eyewear and opthalmic lenses. She has a national certificate as a certified paraoptometric. She has much experience assisting the doctors with contact lens care and collection of data. However, her passion is in the area of eyewear and lens design. Brenda is an avid reader and is a student of massage therapy. She also enjoys computers and bicycling.

Debbie is a capable Optometric Technician in her first year working with us. She is a graduate of the Sawyer School where she learned some of the medical assistant techniques she employs here. She is fluent in Portuguese and is a great asset to our office.
